MILK LIKE SUGAR by Kirsten Greenidge
Following a pinky swear to get pregnant in tandem with her two best friends, 16-year old Annie Desmond considers the possibility that her life may have more potential than she has been led to believe. In making a pivotal decision, she faces down the conflicting aspirations of her peers and a long lineage of abandoned dreams. Theatre Battery brings this Obie-Award winning script by Kirsten Greenidge to the Northwest Region for the first time.
The cast features Kamaria Hallums-Harris, Shanelle Leonard, Danielle Mitchell, Mic Montgomery, Isaiah Parker, Kia Pierce, and Nicole Rashida Prothro. The design team includes Brandon Estrella (Scenic), Lindsey Morck (Sound), Andrea Peace (Costumes), and Elizabeth Steele (Light). Katherine Mahoney stage manages, and Logan Ellis directs.

THEATRE BATTERY produces experimental plays for the suburban community of Kent. We aim to nurture our audience's understanding of the connection between theatre and relevant social issues through the presentation of contemporary works in nontraditional settings. As the only theatre organization in Kent that operates outside of an educational institution, Theatre Battery tasks local artists to create unapologetic and socially testing material that ignites the community.
Located on 18 acres in the heart of downtown Kent, Kent Station is an urban shopping village developed by Tarragon a Seattle based company. The 470,000 sq. ft., mixed-use development features locally-owned and national retail stores, professional office space, and dining and entertainment, including a 14-screen AMC Theatres Cineplex and a branch campus of Green River Community College.
