Enjoy a fun and festive Sunday afternoon to support and learn about Artful Activism!
Funds raised go towards scholarships for Spokane activists and Occupy Spokane members to travel to and attend the NW Artful Activism Localize This! training camp.
You are guaranteed to leave feeling inspired by stories and multimedia of hilarious and stunning creative art-infused actions. Join your friends and community members to Sip on libations, dine on delicious wild Alaskan Copper River Salmon, (veggie options available), music by Terry Sherven, and guest speaker Bill Moyer Director of the Backbone Campaign. The event is being organized by Backbone friends & allies Occupy Spokane.
If you want to see your values of economic and ecological wellbeing manifest in your community, support your local Spokane activists to join others from around the country learning how to become more effective and strategic. Armed with new skills & creative tactics they'll be able to design inspiring actions that successfully challenge injustice and create the vision of the world we long for.
Bill Moyer co-founded the Backbone Campaign in 2003 with friends from an artist affinity group. He has dual and intersecting paths as both an activist and artist. The G.W. Bush administration inspired him to apply lessons of the arts to social change. Backbone Campaign has been a vehicle for much growth and Bill has emerged as a leader in the theory and practice of "artful activism." He designs and produces creative political actions and provides trainings in grand strategy and creative tactics around the country.
