Maybe touching toes (with shoes on) or being hit in the head with small pieces of chalk do not sound romantic. But for Xiao, when she was twelve, those were heart-swelling moments. Ten years could change that feeling. Twenty years even more so. Can true love survive the passage of time, or is impermanence an essential characteristic of love? What is love anyway?

Being an illegal immigrant, Johan does his best to avoid any contact with law enforcement. Unfortunately his gas station job requires him to be chummy with the local police, which causes problems when they look up his name on their registry & are unable to find anything. All of Johan's worst fears seem to be coming to fruition. Only a miracle could save him now, or a Presidential intervention.

"The Spiritual Properties of Ingesting an Entire Bar of Dark Chocolate (Laced With Marijuana)"

Getting into marijuana for purely consciousness expanding purposes, is kind of a noble goal. But eating an entire marijuana-laced dark chocolate bar in one sitting four times the maximum dosage-- poses its' own set of challenges. Like having your perceptions of space and time start to fray. Even worse though is worrying that your dad knows that you know that he knows that you are high, and he's not going to tell you just to let you live with the shame and guilt. For 36 very long hours.

When she found that her skirts had transformed into a collection of brightly hued waist tourniquets and that she could not simultaneously maintain a conversation and walk up a hill, she knew. It was time, yet again, to try to embrace some kind of exercise. This time, though, it would be different. This time, it would be fun! After all, what could be less intimidating for the exercise novice than a hula hooping class? If you're good at something when you're eight, you're good at it forever, right? Clearly, her fitness woes were over good. Or at least for the five minutes it took to enroll.
