#NerdNightOut presents: The Doubleclicks, Sarah Donner & Bri Pruett!
Portland's sort-of-regular evening of comedy and music, curated for nerds. This month: indie folkpop songstress Sarah Donner (The Oatmeal, NPR); local duo the Doubleclicks (BoingBoing, Kotaku); and Bri Pruett (Bridgetown Comedy Festival, All Jane No Dick comedy festival).

Some material may be inappropriate for persons under 17, so parental screening is advised.

The Doubleclicks (http://thedoubleclicks.com) are two sisters who sing sincerely about the things geeks love: dinosaurs, super-villains, Dungeons & Dragons, and more. The duo has gained renown for their youtube videos including the geek girl song "Nothing to Prove," for appearing on Wil Wheaton's web show Tabletop, and for writing the theme song for Cards Against Humanity. The Doubleclicks have toured nationally, performed at w00tstock and on the Jonathan Coulton cruise and their 2013 album "Lasers and Feelings" hit the top 10 on Billboard's comedy charts. Doubleclicks concerts are perfect for fans of cellos, of the 1995 BBC mini-series of Pride and Prejudice, and for people who want to learn more about dinosaurs.

Sarah Donner is an indie folkpop songstress who has embraced her inner catlady. She works the stage with a powerful vocals, punchy guitar, and a candid stage presence. That Is A Pegasus (2014) is her fifth studio album released on her label CatLady Records. It was co-produced with Owen Lewis, whose engineering credits include Katy Perry, The Cranberries, and Snow Patrol. The new songs teeter back and forth between playful, rock, nerd core, and ballads, all tied together with bright melodies and driving, energetic instrumentals.

The "Sarah Donner and the Sleepy Kitten" video and "The Motherf**cking Pterodactyl Song" which was co-written with The Oatmeal catapulted Sarah into weblebrity status with over two million views on YouTube alone. Her music has been featured on Conan O'Brien's blog, NPR, Showtime, and CBS News. It has also been licensed for television shows on Discovery networks, Bravo, MTV, VH1, and Showtime.

She is a graduate of Westminster Choir College. After stretching her legs with musical theatre, she picked up a guitar, abandoned her classical roots, and started rocking out (with fantastic breath support). Sarah Donner's cold New England heart was transplanted to New Jersey where she fosters kittens when not on tour.

Bri Pruett is a stand-up comic and improviser from Portland, Oregon.  She's appeared at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival and the All Jane No Dick comedy festival.  She's opened for super cool humans: Kevin McDonald (kids in the hall), Sara Schaefer (MTV), musical geek songstresses The Doubleclicks and Ron Funches (NBC, Conan, and human teddy bear).

For 6 years she's been a part of Action/Adventure Theater, a non-profit independent theater and black box venue in Southeast Portland.  She appeared in Action/Adventure's celebrated, long-running, improvised serial: Fall of the House.  A/A also produced an original Sketch Show: Making Sex; local press said Bri showed"razor sharp comic timing."  Oh yeah.  She's the comedy sidekick and director for Late Night Action with Alex Falcone, a live, talk/variety show. Along with comedy buddies Alex Falcone and Anthony Lopez she is the power trio behind monthly Chips and Salsa Comedy Show at Action/Adventure.
