Assateague Island National Seashore EcoWomen Camping Trip
Join 24 other EcoWomen in a fun day at the beach and camping among the dunes of Assateague Island National Seashore in Maryland. Swim in the surf, take a nature walk to learn about the unique ecology of the dunes, or watch Assateague's famous wild ponies wander down the beaches.
No previous camping experience necessary, this trip will be far from rustic with toilets, running water, and a fire it to cook our food. There are also lots of day-trippers that use the beach, so don't expect a wilderness experience. Instead, come ready to swim, roast marshmallows, and get away from DC!
We will be leaving DC in the morning on Saturday, July 19th, and returning Sunday afternoon. Rides and tents will be coordinated, and all you're responsible for is sunscreen and sleeping gear! The cost of $40 covers gas, ride, firewood, campsite fee, dinner, and breakfast.
We will be carpooling, so if you have a car and are willing to drive (with reimbursement for mileage and gas), please let us know!
