105 - Edges and Reversible Cable with Laurinda Reddig
Most crocheted cables are worked on a background of solid stitches, and they certainly do not look the same on both sides. But what if you want just the cable, right up to the edge, no extra stitches on either side? What if you want a cable fabric that is truly reversible?
We will begin with a basic understanding of how cables work in crochet, then learn how to break away from those flat boring edges to create cable scallops along the edges, and even make them reversible. You will learn how to use front and back post stitches to create edgeless cables of various sizes, and the trick for smoother cables along the edges that look good on both sides. You will make 2-3 Braided Cable Cuff Bracelets (or use as Coffee Cozies), and walk away ready to tackle any crocheted cable project.
