Double Sided Phone Booth
Chemically Imbalanced Comedy (CIC) is excited to announce the premiere of two one-person sketch shows in "Double Sided Phone Booth". "Double Sided Phone Booth" features Tone Issues by Becca Slack, and What Men Want by Brian Biancardi.
Tone Issues is a solo sketch show written and performed by Becca Slack. Combining storytelling and characters, Tone Issues explores the humor in sadness and the small victories of the underdog. An anxious, obsessive-compulsive suburbanite with a dad from old school Brooklyn and a mom from Manhattan, Becca Slack aims to paint a fun, lighthearted picture of her experiences and perspective. Tone Issues is directed by Tyler Samples. Becca Slack has studied comedy at iO, Annoyance, CIC, and Second City. You can see her perform with Lancer at CIC, Denver at iO, and Squall at The Playground.
What Men Want depicts two men from different worlds dealing with the one thing that ties us all together: sex. Alex Sparks undergoes a supernatural event that makes him love the things he hated and hate the things he loves, particularly his wife. Akbar Shamul leans on his hundreds of online followers to help him get a surgery necessary for normality, only to wake up with some unwanted side effects. Brian Biancardi has studied comedy at iO and the Annoyance. You can see him perform at CIC with Susan, iO with Buddy System, and at Studio Be with Dr. Robot.
