------
The LuchkowJarvis Duo was formed by Paul Luchkow and Michael Jarvis in 2007 to explore sonata repertoire for violin and keyboard, from the early Baroque through to the Classical and Romantic periods, on instruments of the time. Since then, Paul and Michael have performed concerts for Early Music Vancouver, co-directed the Pacific Baroque Orchestra and performed for the Early Music Society of the Islands (Victoria). Their recording of sonatas for violin/viola and fortepiano of Johann Nepomuk Hummel was released on Marquis Classics in January 2012 and was nominated as Classical Album of the Year at the 2012 Western Canada Music Awards. A subsequent recording of Mozart sonatas was self-produced and released in the summer of 2013. Their next disc, sonatas of Mendelssohn, will be recorded in the fall of 2014.
Nathan Whittaker, violoncello, enjoys a unique and diverse career as a concert soloist, chamber musician, recitalist, teacher, and historical cello specialist. He plays regularly with the Seattle Baroque Orchestra, Pacific Baroque Orchestra, Portland Baroque Orchestra, and is a founding member of the Op. 20 String Quartet. His recent concert activities included appearances at the Indianapolis Early Music Festival, Vancouver Early Music Festival, and Pacific Baroque Festival (Victoria, B.C.), as well as other concert stops ranging from Seattle to New York to Dubai. He also composed and recorded an original score for the Emmy nominated documentary "When Seattle Invented the Future". He can be heard on recordings by ATMA Musique and Harmonia and broadcasts by NPR, CBC, and KING FM.
