Boston Harbor Lighthouse Cruise
MV Columbia Point will depart from UMass Boston Harbor Campus, Fox Point Pavilion on Dorchester Bay. Cruise through Presidents Roads past Deer Island and Long Island Head Lights, and Nixes Mate before heading out to Graves Light and returning past Boston Light on Little Brewster Island and Fort Warren on Georges Island. This is the only Lighthouse Tour in Boston in 2014. See up close the restoration work being done on Boston Light in preparation for its 300th anniversary in 2016. Narration is provided by Friends of the Boston Harbor Islands.
The Lighthouse Cruise is done in cooperation with UMass Boston Marine Operations. The vessel has an enclosed air-conditioned cabin with table and chairs and open top deck with seating. The vessel is wheel chair accessible.
Bring a picnic and beverages; there is no food sold on the boat. Trip goes rain or shine; weather cancellation at the Captain's discretion.
Advance tickets available through Brown Paper Tickets. On the day of the trip remaining tickets will be sold dockside one hour before departure - cash only please. Friends of the Boston Harbor Islands volunteers will be at the Fox Point Pavilion one hour prior to departure to check in passengers. Boarding begins at 10:45 a.m.
