Green Building and the Pepperwood Preserve Center
Ned Forrest, the architect of Pepperwoods new LEED certified Research and Education Center, will present historic inspiration, current methods, and an optimistic future of environmentally conscious buildings. The firm Ned Forrest Architects, based in Sonoma, is widely recognized, especially for its work in agricultural regions. This work is often based on pre-industrial traditions, which have much to offer even the most contemporary design in attitudes of craft, energy, and sustainability. The class will tour the nearly completed Center, discuss its features, and the process of creating it. Meet at the Bechtel House. Date: October 17, 2009, 9:00 am to 3:00pm
