We'll get a quick tour of each farm + the winery, a chance to chat with the farmers/vintners and perhaps make a connection. There will be tasty samples at each stop and coffee and tea available at the office before departure! **Dress for the weather, wear farm walking shoes and bring a snack. Feel free to bring a notebook for notes, business cards and anything else you think you'll need.
Cost is $20, we'll meet at the Sustainable Connections Office 7:45am on Wednesday July 16th for coffee & tea, then head out at 8:00am for the tours and be back by 12:30pm.
Sage and Sky Farm We are a family farm on 27 acres dedicated to producing delicious and healthy food for our community. Our animals eat well and live well, and our fruits and vegetables grow without harmful chemicals. In addition to CSA vegetables, we offer grass-fed lamb, pastured eggs, and pastured chicken.
Cloud Mountain Farm Center We offer a retail nursery featuring fruit and ornamental plants, workshops, classes, and demonstration garden. Our farm stand offers assorted vegetables, commercial (IPM) apples, pears, cherries, peaches, plums, and unusual fruits. Enjoy our summer Harvest Day, and in autumn our Fruit Festival, pumpkin patch, and fresh cider.
Growing Washington Alm Hill Gardens/Growing Washington is a Whatcom county sustainable farm that produces naturally grown berries, vine-ripened tomatoes, salad mixes, and vegetables available from spring until late fall. Growing Washington is a self-supporting non-profit organization aiming to benefit the lives of all Washingtonians. We manage a group CSA of Whatcom county growers; a Just Food CSA project to benefit low income families; and the Food Bank Farm, which raises food solely to donate to the Bellingham area food banks.
Samson Estates Winery The winery was added to our existing raspberry and blueberry farm in 2001. We offer traditional red and white, fruit, and dessert wine. All of our grapes and berries are carefully selected to achieve the highest quality in our award-winning wines. Visit our tasting room and gift shop to sample and purchase our wines.
