Join film historian Glenn Andreiev for a gripping talk about the dark, bone-chilling films of macabre movie mavericks Tod Browning and James Whale Tod Browning and James Whale's classic horror films still continue to amaze and chill audiences. Join in on the fun as returning film scholar Glenn Andreiev presents an evening class examining the lives, films and careers of these innovated masters of fright. Film clips and rare stills from such Browning/Whale classics as The Unknown (with Lon Chaney FRANKFrankenstein0616and a sultry Joan Crawford), Dracula, The Invisible Man, Frankenstein, Freaks, The Bride of Frankenstein and more- fill the evening with info and thrills!
What shocking tidbits were censored from Browning's ground-breaking horror fable, Freaks? Is Browning's silent vampire film London After Midnight, considered the "holy grail" of lost films, out there somewhere? If James Whale directed Dracula's Daughter, as originally intended, how twisted and shocking would that film have been? Glenn Andreiev is a long time Long Island filmmaker and film historian. His writings on film history can be found in The Village Connection, and Films In Review. He has lectured on film history at the Cinema Arts Centre and at The School Of Visual Arts, where he holds a BFA degree in film. His work as a filmmaker has appeared on CNN, TruTV, Newsday, and The View. Currently, he is working on a film entitled Cat's View.
