Columbia City Comedy Presents Dax Jordan
Wednesday July 9th! We're very excited to bring to you a great comedian from Northwest and LA scene, Dax Jordan!
The only child of an original Valley Girl and a Midwestern jazz drummer, Dax has cornered that unique Beatnik/Mallrat/Trekkie demographic. Raised on the fruits of the 80's standup explosion, his early exposure to everything from Stan Freberg to George Carlin have ingrained in him a wide variety of styles and perspectives. Often the devil's advocate, but obviously opinionated, he makes his statement by asking questions people are afraid to answer. An ability to tailor the act to crowds from Catholic High School grad parties to lumberjack bars in rural Idaho to hipsters in downtown Seattle has allowed him to take advantage of every opportunity to come his way, including writing jokes for Senator Ron Wyden (D-Or). He has also appeared in several films and television programs seen internationally.

We're excited to welcome Veronica Heath! Veronica Heath hails from Portland, OR. She appeared in Seasons 2 and 3 of IFC's comedy sketch show, 'Portlandia'. Veronica is a 6-time Bridgetown Comedy Festival Alum and regularly performs her neurotic yet relateable views in venues all over the west coast.
We're excited to welcome Cris Rodriguez! Growing up as one of 6 kids in a single parent, Mexican household can do one of two things to a person: make them a criminal, or really funny. I chose both, but found out that I was really good at one, and totally horrible at the other. In performing, I make sure to use my unique point of view to spout funny on such wide-ranging topics as parenting, race, rap music, politics, and much more. All the while maintaining a tongue-in-cheek style and making sure everyone shares in the laughs. I am a regular in the Seattle comedy scene. I was lucky enough to win to comedy competitions in my first year of comedy and it's been a whirl wind around the Northwest ever since!
We're excited to welcome Steven Wilber! "Offbeat," "unexpected" and "clever" are just three of literally hundreds of words used to describe the comedy-style stylings of Steven Wilber. Since starting stand-up in 2011, Steven has risen up in the comedy scene to become a frequent performer at arcade bars, anarchist bookstores, Doctor Who-themed seafood restaurants and other typical comedy venues Portland has to offer. Steven has shared the stage with Chris Hardwick, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Sean Patton and Ron Funches...whether they wanted him to or not. He has performed at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival Bumbershoot, the Savage Henry Comedy Festival, has been featured on Bryan Cook's Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction podcast, and is a writer for The Spicy News web series. He also has over 24,000 Vine followers, which he's been told is a good thing to include in a bio.
We're excited to welcome fresh from defying death, David Leon! David Leon is a Chicago native who began his comedy career in Madison, WI. David has shared the stage with many talented performers such as Emo Phillips, TJ Miller, James Adomian and Joey Diaz. David Leon's style of comedy, best described by the Onion A.V. club, "plays on the yearning sentimentalist and inner-creep" with a "kid-on-sugar-high stage presence." With a demented persona and unpredictable topics, David Leon puts on a show that demands intensity and imagination from his audience and leaves a smile in their heart.
We're excited to welcome Cameron Mazzuca! Lovable bearded everyman Cameron Mazzuca gets excited onstage. It's because he's happy to be doing what he loves, and probably also because he had too much Diet Coke. Born in the City of Destiny, Tacoma, and raised everywhere, he's become a regular on comedy club stages in Seattle, Tacoma and Kirkland well as festivals like Folklife and venues across the Pacific Northwest, opening for contemporary greats like James Adomian and Andy Haynes. His infectious enthusiasm and goshdarn good-Italian-boy friendliness will win you over in a big way.
