How PBS Hawaii and Hawaii Public Radio Continue to Engage Hawaii's Communities
Turn your TV to PBS Hawaii and you may see Masterpiece Theater, Na Mele or Long Story Short with Leslie Wilcox. Listen to the radio on your daily commute and you may hear Morning Edition, classical music, or Michael Titterton asking for your support. Many of us have favorite shows on PBS and KHPR, but what happens with each of these organizations "off the air" and in the community are equally inspiring and entertaining. Volunteers and fundraising are key for both, but what makes each so successful? What goes into creating and/or selecting programs? What strategies have been successful in increasing audience base and membership?
