MARKET GHOST TOUR - TICKETS JUNE & JULY
The Market Ghost Tours are the stories of the people that lived on the land before the Pike Place Market, like Princess Angeline, Chief Seattle's daughter, and those have recently departed but still remain in the Arcades. Within the Market, Seattle's first mortuary stands, the remnants of a graveyard have been found, and an old brothel still has a red glow cast on it's walls.
The Ghost Tour has received 5 star ratings from tour goers, on yelp.com. These are unsolicited reviews, which is very exciting for us as guides! The tour has also been featured in newspaper articles, Evening Magazine, and the Art Zone. Mercedes Yaeger, owner, has also started a radio show about ghost stories in seattle on blogtalkradio.com. Several books also highlight the tours, and a new book just about the Market Ghost Stories is now available, called appropriately Market Ghost Stories - you can pick one up at the tour.
"The Ghost Tour was everything I wanted and more, mostly because while I figured it would titillate the kitschy side of me that reads Stephen King avidly, it also managed to not be at all corny. Mercedes, the guide, was well-informed, entertaining, and recounted stories of ghosts who have been seen and experienced enough and by enough individual people to make the stories believable." This is part of the review from yelp.com
NEW SCHEDULE FOR 2009: Tours are Wed-SAT 5pm and 7pm and additional late night tours on the weekends, FRI and SAT at 9pm.
The tour is moderately adult in content, stick to the 5pm tour with young ones. If you come with children under 8 years of age, there is no charge for them to be on the tour - but please come to a 5pm tour.
