Sinai. A rush of smoke, blasts of sounds, flashes of light. You download all the truth there is to know in the universe. Henceforth, the Jews call that deep and evolving truth TORAH.
Shavuot (pronounced sha-voo-ote) is the celebration of that moment of communal revelation, and for the next 4,000 years Jews stay up all night, once a year, to recapture that intense moment of enlightenment. We'll be guided by professors, rabbis, yogis, artists, activists, chefs, mikvah-ladies, musicians, comedians, spoken-word performers and wellness-experts. There will be food, drink, and of course, cheesecake.
