MEGAN MULLALLY'S NANCY & BETH
Mark Cortale and BROADWAY @ THE ART HOUSE proudly presents Will & Grace star MEGAN MULLALLY in NANCY & BETH with Stephanie Hunt (Friday Night Lights, Californication and How To Live With Your Parents For the Rest of Your Life) for 5 shows only! Best known for her two-time Emmy and four-time SAG Award-winning role as Karen Walker on the hit groundbreaking NBC Series WILL & GRACE, Megan was most recently seen on the Fox series BREAKING IN starring opposite Christian Slater. Megan most recently received rave reviews for her spectacular Carnegie Hall performance as Adelaide in Guys & Dolls with Nathan Lane. She received an Ovation Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for her performance as Rosemary in the Broadway revival of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING opposite Matthew Broderick and recently starred as Elizabeth in the hit Broadway musical, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. She was also seen as Marty in the revival of GREASE.
Megan met fellow actress Stephanie Hunt while in Austin filming the independent movie Somebody Up There Likes Me. The minute the two started singing together they realized they had something special and those that have come out to see their new band, Nancy and Beth, agree! Within just three months of their inception, N&B had already played such fabulous venues as Royce Hall in Los Angeles and been featured as a musical guest on Conan.
What people are saying about Nancy & Beth: "The Andrews Sisters/Honky Tonk/C&W and some Joni Mitchell." "Megan is like the bastard child of Patsy Cline and Grace Slick."
Megan has also been popping up on many of television's best comedies: Megan has recurring roles on NBC's PARKS AND RECREATION, as the infamous Tammy Swanson, UP ALL NIGHT (opposite Maya Rudolf), ABC's HAPPY ENDINGS (opposite Casey Wilson), and the FOX animated series BOB'S BURGERS. Megan also stars as Chief on the long running Adult Swim cult comedy CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, and played the role of Lydia Dunfree on the second season of the acclaimed cable series PARTY DOWN. Megan will appear on the big screen in the upcoming films SMASHED (Sony Classics; directed by James Ponsoldt; Sundance Main Competition 2012), GAY DUDE (Lionsgate; directed by Chris Nelson), WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING (Lionsgate; directed by Kirk Jones) and the film festival indie darling SOMEBODY UP THERE LIKES ME (directed by Bob Byington).
In 2009, Megan's critically acclaimed performance as Beverly Wilkins in the West Coast debut of THE RECEPTIONIST at the Odyssey Theatre earned her the Backstage West Garland Award for best performance in a play. Los Angeles theater credits include THE BERLIN CIRCLE at The Evidence Room Theater, for which she won the 2000 Backstage West Garland Award for Best Lead Actress in a Play and the L.A. Weekly Award for Best Leading Female Performance. She has also appeared in the play MAYHEM at The Evidence Room, as well as a variety of other plays and musicals in both Chicago and Los Angeles.
On the big screen, Megan starred in the film EVERYTHING PUT TOGETHER directed by Marc Forster - an entry in the 2000 Sundance Film Festival's main competition and also appeared in 1999's ANYWHERE BUT HERE. Other film credits include 2009's remake of FAME, STEALING HARVARD, SPEAKING OF SEX, REBOUND, Lifetime's THE PACT and the award winning HBO biopic WINCHELL.
Megan also is a talented singer, recording albums and performing around the country with her bands SUPREME MUSIC PROGRAM, NANCY AND BETH (with Stephanie Hunt), and a piano only concert featuring Broadway and standards. Megan and SUPREME MUSIC PROGRAM made their international debut in the West End, performing at the Vaudeville Theater in London for eight performances in February 2010. Megan's most recent concert appearances with her band include The Allen Room at The Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, The Seattle Symphony, Chicago's Goodman Theatre, SUNY Buffalo Performing Arts and the Orange County Performing Arts Center. She also has appeared as a soloist at The Disney Concert Hall. She has made three CDs with SUPREME MUSIC PROGRAM entitled "The Sweetheart Break-In," "Big As A Berry" and "Free Again!". She can also be heard singing the solo barn-burner "You Took Advantage of Me" on the FAME soundtrack as well as the song "Long John Blues" in the movie BURLESQUE.
