In the five years since releasing his debut album, One Town Tasted, Paddy Saul has garnered plenty of press and airplay in Boston, the Northeast and his homeland Ireland. Says Camille Pandian of The Somerville News, "He's a rising Irish rock starSaul's music is gripping, highly original and powerfully eclectic." His latest release, The Way The Blood Flows was mixed by Grammy award winning Ducky Carlisle. It showcases Paddy's signature strumming and features mandolin, fiddle, horns, and piano in a combination of foot stomping anthems and ethereal ballads. The album also includes a life-affirming collaboration Paddy enjoyed with Irish musical legend, Liam Ó Maonlaí of the Hothouse Flowers. Paddy was fortunate enough to record "Rock and Roll" from his forthcoming release with support of Liam and the tune echoes the mystical touch that Liam brings to every endeavor.
Paddy can be seen throughout Boston, the Northeast and Ireland, playing solo shows or with his full band. He has kept close ties with his Irish roots sharing the stage with Liam O'Maonlai (Hothouse Flowers), Bell X1, Juliet Turner, Mundy, Steve Wall (front man with The Stunning and The Walls), Don Baker and Mark Geary, to name a few. He's also worked with Engineer Pete Weiss (Aimee Mann, Charlie Chesterman, Vic Chestnutt) who says, "One of the best voices I've ever had the pleasure of committing to tape."
Paddy is looking forward to the next chapter; and those who have heard The Way The Blood Flows believe it is his best recording to date.
