Welcome to Grave Country
The occasional skylark shores up the quiet here in Grave Country. The air falls cool and fresh, and there are no trees or fences to clock the pace of the breeze. A small boy in a skeleton mask walks along the horizon, and the sky opens like a hand, like a flash, like a court summons nailed to the door. Here is the dream of a vast, ancient lake marked only by the prayer of a Joshua tree pulsing faintly within the earth: drum, rain, barn door, fiddle, voice, wind.
On May 30th, for one night only, Standard Toykraft would like to invite you to Grave Country, a small, haunted corner of the world which is home to the shadow puppetry of Daniel Patrick Fay, the poetry of Eric Green, the disgruntled country music of The Horse-Eyed Men, and a special appearance by Robert Zimmerman, performing as Bob Dylan.
Formal, or at least spaghetti-western attire is recommended. Doors are at 8,a tour of the town will begin promptly at 9.
