Fuchsia Band Concert
The Fuchsia Band is coming all the way from Ireland to perform in Jackson on Friday, June 5th at the Ag. Museum. The Fuchsia band is without a doubt CelticFest Mississippis most popular performing group.
In their own words, The Fuchsia Band are a group of four lads from Cork, Ireland who play, dance, sing and generally have a good time like it (used to be) is in Ireland. Were traditional Irish musicians with emphasis on fun and general entertainment! They play traditional Irish dance music, sing songs, tell stories, and perform Irish dances.
The Fuchsia Band first appeared in Mississippi at CelticFest 2005 only two weeks after Hurricane Katrina devastated Mississippi. After hearing of Mississippis plight, the Fuchsia Band volunteered to donate their time and talents to the festival-turned-hurricane-relief-event, and became the surprise hit of the event. The lads so earned their invitations to perform at CelticFest 2006 and 2007, solidifying their reputation as Mississippis favorite Irish band.
Sponsored by Wine & Spirits in the Quarter, The World's Finest Food, Fenian's Irish Pub, The Jackson Irish Dancers, and the Celtic Heritage Society.
