KALLIE
The American Renaissance Theater Company, Bill Cosgriff and Kathleen Swan, co-Artistic Directors, presents KALLIE by Stuart D'Ver, directed by Elowyn Castle, at Cap 21 Theatre, 18 W. 18th St., 5th floor, June 5 - 22. This Equity Showcase production features Baltsar Beckeld, Rachael Jenison, Kohler McKenzie and James Nugent.
KALLIE is an exploration of memory wrapped in a pitch black comedy about delusion, reality -- and Groucho Marx. It is the tale of a young woman escaping an abusive relationship who rebels against her abuser, rebels against the drugs that have kept her in check, and rebels against the memories of her own past. Along the way, she struggles with deviations from reality that are sometimes disconcerting, sometimes insane and sometimes insanely funny. Darkly surreal -- deeply comic -- KALLIE is the story of one woman's journey from madness to love.
