Peter Evans Quintet
The Peter Evans Quintet has been performing in the USA and internationally since 2009. The band has relentlessly focused on new combinations of notated and improvised music in an electro-acoustic setting and has amassed a wide range of original material, documented on their acclaimed "Ghosts" album from 2011 and the cinematic, monumental compositions on their upcoming "DESTINATION: VOID" (Summer 2014). For their first performance at ISSUE as part of Peter Evan's 2014 residency, the group debuts five new compositions by Evans including pieces dedicated to biologist Lynn Margulis and musician/composer Alice Coltrane, in addition to improvisatory platforms for the unique playing styles of the band members.
