My Fair Lady
The Allenspark Performing Arts Company will stage a full production of the 1956 Tony award-winning play My Fair Lady in historic Allenspark, in the open air theater at The Old Gallery. The play was originally staged by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, and starred Rex Harrison and Julie Andrews. The 1964 Oscar-winning film starred Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn.
APAC is thrilled to have Denver actor Brian Trampler joining the cast to bring the delightfully arrogant Professor Henry Higgins to life. Portraying the hapless Cockney flower girl who is transformed into an Edwardian lady is Christy Florence, who also has an impressive resume.
Based on George Bernard Shaw's novel Pygmalion, this is the story of a snobbish phonetics professor who makes a bet with his friend that he can turn someone from humble origins into a perfectly acceptable member of high society by simply teaching her proper diction. In the process, the professor is humbled, awed and captivated by his "creation."
