Biodynamic Dinner and Talk at Till
Despite the fact that biodynamic agriculture is one of the oldest methods of organic farming in existence, few people know very much about it. This event is an opportunity both to learn about the food movement from a biodynamic perspective and to explore biodynamic food in the most enjoyable way possible: on the plate.
Robert Karp, the executive director of the Biodynamic Association, will be in Columbus on Friday, May 30, and he has agreed to a give a presentation at Till, the Columbus area's foremost biodynamic restaurant. Robert is a charismatic and inspiring speaker. He will speak on the theme of Land, Labor, Capital, and the future of the food movement.
Till will be offering dinner after the talk. The menu will be sourced from local and biodynamic farms, including Foxhollow Farm in Kentucky, their primary beef producer, and Paradise Springs in Wyoming, a biodynamic dairy farm and producer of an amazing artisanal aged white cheddar. There will be meat and vegetarian menu options. The meat option will be a slow braised smoked biodynamic brisket with bd cheddar grits and local veggies. The veggie option will be a biodynamic cheddar and local veggie torta with mushroom fricassée. All the wine will be Demeter-certified biodynamic and Thunderkiss coffee will be offering biodynamic Brazilian bean espresso. Dessert will be Salty caramel mud pie.
All are welcome to attend the free talk at 6pm. The cost of the dinner at 7pm will be $44 for Slow Food members and $49 for nonmembers (tip included), plus ticket fees. Portions of the proceeds will benefit Slow Food Columbus and the Biodynamic Association.
