Knock Her Socks Off: SVRG's Dot.Kamikazes vs Santa Cruz

The South Bays very own All-Womens Flat Track Roller Derby League, the Silicon Valley Roller Girls (San Jose, CA), will be hosting Knock Her Socks Off, a 50's sock hop themed bout. SVRG's Dot.Kamaikazes will be taking on the Santa Cruz Derby Girls. These two neighboring teams have participated in many scrimmages and exhibition bouts together, but this will be the first real competition bout where these two teams face off. Knock Her Socks Off, the third home bout of SVRG's second season, is scheduled for Saturday, June 13th, 2009. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the action starts at 7 p.m. Come and show your support for your local derby girls by donning your green and black. San Jose Skate on Blossom Hill will be the battlegrounds for this bout. Tickets are currently on-sale online at Brown Paper Tickets: $15 for adults and $6 for kids; tickets at the door are $17 for adults and $8 for kids; babies in arms (two and under) are free. SVRG will be giving a portion of the proceeds from the bout to YWCA. As always, the bout will feature a beer garden (for 21 and over), snack bar, raffle prizes and more. Tasty Hoops will be delighting us with their amazing hula hooping skills for half time.
