Atlanta Waterworks Friendraiser
For more than a century, the greenspace around Atlanta Waterworks was open to the public for enjoyment and passive recreation. Since before the Olympics, however, the area has been fenced off and inaccessible. Now neighbors, greenspace advocates, and public officials are coming together to start a conversation around re-opening Atlanta Waterworks.
We're hosting a kickoff visioning and "friendraiser" event Wednesday, May 21 from 6pm to 8pm at Monday Night Brewing, and we need your help.
Atlanta Waterworks is being envisioned in accordance with the Atlanta BeltLine's subarea 8 master plan and will include walking trails, green lawns, old-growth oak trees, and connectivity to future Atlanta BeltLine trails. All proceeds from the event will go to Friends of Atlanta Waterworks, a new Park Pride "friends of the park" organization with the goal of re-opening a world class greenspace at the Atlanta Waterworks.
