ADVERSE FOOD REACTIONS: ALLERGY OR INTOLERANCE?
Every three minutes, a food allergy reaction sends someone to the emergency department according to Food Allergy Research & Education. Researchers estimate up to 15 million Americans have food allergies, affecting children and adults of all races and ethnicity and can begin at any age. At this seminar Dr. Verma will discuss: - Common food allergy risks and related diseases - What happens during an allergic reaction - Differences between food allergy and food intolerance ___________________________________________________________
Dr. Prashant Verma specializes in allergy and immunology. He received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School in Chicago, IL, and completed his internship and residency at the University of California San Diego Medical Center. Dr. Verma is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a a clinical instructor for the UCLA Department of Medicine and is a member of the Community Memorial Hospital medical staff.
