Terri Weagant in The Amish Project
The Merc Playhouse presents Terri Weagant in a one-woman show, The Amish Project, by Jessica Dickey. This powerful play is inspired by a hostage-taking at an Amish school in Lancaster County, Pa., in October 2006, yet beyond a few facts drawn from the incident, it is fictional. In this performance, Terri will play seven different characters as the play explores the theme of forgiveness.
Terri Weagant is a Seattle-based actor, director and teaching artist whose parents Jane and Rod and sister Rose live in Twisp. She is considered "one of the Seattle theatre community's treasures: a brilliant, witty actor with diverse talents." She most recently toured with the one-woman show The Search for Signs of Integlligent Life in the Universe. Terri appears in The Amish Project at The Merc for two nights only, June 6 & 7 at 7 pm. Tickets available online or at the door $15 Adult, $5 Youth 18 & Under. Recommended for ages 12 and up. Terri will also offer a workshop for adults and teenagers called "On My Own! Solo Performance Writing" on Saturday, June 7 from noon- 3pm (cost $15). More info 997-PLAY (7529) or www.mercplayhouse.org.
