Warm Digits, Kontakte & Twelve
We have yet another fantastic night of music for you lucky people!
Headlining we are honoured and privileged to bring you Warm Digits!
Warm Digits - Steve Jefferis and Andrew Hodson - are the trans-pennine, krautophonic blizzard-wave duo that emerged from Newcastle upon Tyne's underground scene with a sound like Neu! and Cluster forming a supergroup with Giorgio Moroder, Emeralds, Kevin Shields, 70s Eno and Keith Levene.
Live, Warm Digits are a motoric epiphany of drums, guitar and pulsing hardware, complete with mesmeric kosmische visuals; all that on-stage multi-tasking making their live sets a dynamic kraut-disco experience. With acclaimed live support slots this year to Interpol and British Sea Power, Warm Digits are a band you need to see live!
Supporting we have London duo Kontakte.
Conceived in 2005 from a string of old 4-track demos and further realized via a labyrinth of digital workstations and computer software, Kontakte emerged in early 2006. The concept was to blend organic instrumentation within an electronic and hypnotic framework of programmed beats and pulsing synths. Inspired by the walls of sound of bands like Godspeed You Black Emperor and Mogwai, Kontakte's other main passions were the ambient sounds of Brian Eno, mid-late 70's German electronica and the early 90's shoegaze scene. Taking elements from all of these things, Kontakte have endeavoured to create a sound that is uniquely and deservedly their own.
Having released two albums to date - 'We Move Through Negative Spaces' (2011) & 'Soundtracks To Lost Road Movies' (2008) plus the Limited Edition EP Superbug (2010) and two early 7" vinyl singles - Kontakte continue to deliver on their initial promise of their own brand of 'hypnotic, textural, cinematic noise'.
Kontakte have been remixed by such luminaries as Tim Holmes of Death In Vegas, Chris Olley of Six. By Seven, Clem Leek, Winterlight, A Dancing Beggar, Russel.M.Harmon and labelmates Oppressed By The Line & Matt Bartram. An appearance on the Northern Star Records compilation series 'Revolution In Sound' continued in 2011. The Kontakte live experience is a blistering wall of guitar noise with shimmering electronics and ethereal melodies a band to savour. Kontakte have toured the UK and Germany, headlined the Feedback Fever Festival in Hamburg and consistently play intense live shows, including a magnificent set earlier in the year for us!
Opening the night we have the mighty Twelve! Twelve is the Krautrock side project of the musical genius that is Chris Olley, the man behind Six By Seven. A prolific writer - there are already 6 Twelve albums out - and captivating live performer, The Twelve live experience is not to be missed!
With a Goodsoul DJ set throughout the night as well, this will be a night of electrifying electronic excellence!!!
