Beyond Ghosts & GWNYPS: First time Public Ghost Hunt of the Varysburg Hotel

June 14th, 2014 - A Haunting Night at the Varysburg Hotel! Saturday, June 14th, from 7pm to 2 am, event ticket includes screening of "Behind the Shadows" episode filmed at the Varysburg Hotel with GWNYPS, ghost hunt, refreshments, and tour. Limited tickets only $25! Additionally, there are a few ghost hunt only tickets available for only $20 each. This is a first time public ghost hunting event at this great historic location the Varysburg Hotel! The Hotel originally built as a Saddle Barn back in 1856, the building which is today the Varysburg Hotel, was converted to a stage coach stop in 1886. A town fire in 1908 caused the structure to burn to the ground. In 1909 the building was rebuilt and continued its existence as a local hotel, offering shelter to wayward travelers throughout the region. The Varysburg Hotel has long been believed to be haunted. Some of the better known apparitions include a "man in a blue jacket," a small child who runs up and down the staircase at odd intervals, and a white-haired woman said to spend her time down in the Varysburg Hotel basement! This is the first ever public ghost hunting event at the location. The Varysburg Hotel is located at 2486 Rte 20A, Varysburg, NY 14167.
