Red June at The Blue Ridge Music Center
The Blue Ridge Music Center's (Milepost 213 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, near Galax, VA) Saturday Evening Concert Series held in the Center's beautiful outdoor amphitheater nestled at the foot of Fisher Peak in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Saturday, August 16th from 7-9 PM features Old Time, Bluegrass, and American Roots influenced music from Asheville, NC based Red June.
Like their namesake heirloom apple variety, Red June has strong roots in the Appalachian tradition while constantly forging new ground in American music. With a dynamic yet refined sound featuring striking three-part harmonies, electrifying instrumental work, and honest, soulful songwriting, Asheville NC's Red June has been capturing the hearts of audiences all across the country. A power trio consisting of Will Straughan on dobro and guitar, Natalya Weinstein on fiddle, and John Cloyd Miller on mandolin and guitar, the three seamlessly blend country, bluegrass, and American roots music with a dash of indie rock sensibility to create something entirely original and inspiring.
