SPACECRAFT Presents "Show and Tell" a Fundraiser
Saturday May 17th Spacecraft Lands at Rolling Bay Hall Spacecraft, a work-in-progress non-profit arts group, will present a fund raising event, "Show and Tell," at Rolling Bay Hall, Saturday, May 17 at 7:30. The Spacecraft spokesperson, who is known only as Space Cadet #9 said, "Our group seeks to curate performing arts events that are a little riskier, edgier and cooler. Bainbridge is an arts-centric community. We seek to occupy a frequency on the arts bandwidth that is currently underserved. 'Show and Tell,' is an opportunity to show the community what we are about, tell them our story and beg for money!" The all-ages show will feature an eclectic mix of talents ranging from the wildly popular local student improv troupe, Not Applicable, to Seattle based artists, Maiah Manser and headliner, The Fame Riot. The Master of Ceremonies is local actor, Ted Dowling, who recently starred in the BPA production of, The Kentucky Cycle. Seattle and Bainbridge music insiders, as well as international press, are well aware of The Fame Riot. In the words of one Seattle reporter, "Influenced by Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Empire of the Sun and more, The Fame Riot puts on a visual and aural sensation of the senses with colorful accessories, crazy hair, damn catchy synth lines and youthful, energetic lyrics. There's something about this music that just makes you feel good." The Seattle Weekly calls Maiah Manser, " a songwriter not afraid to take artistic risks." Tickets to the event are $12.00 and available at brownpapertickets.com
