The Musical Theater Project presents a special two-hour Girl Scouts workshop featuring "The Jungle Book" on May 19th!

For grade levels: K-5
Daisies: Fun patch
Brownies: Fun patch

Part 1: 6:15-7:00pm
SNACK: 7:00-7:15pm, scouts should pack a snack!
Part 2: 7:15-8:00pm

Explore the classic story of "The Jungle Book" by Rudyard Kipling through the uniquely American art form of musical theater! This NEW workshop, adapted from our popular school program, will meet the requirements of the performance themed badges in the skill building "It's Your World!" section of the Girl Scout handbook.

Participants will sing lovable songs from the 1967 Disney animated classic, explore and become the characters, practice famous dance steps like swing and the "Charleston," learn basic elements of jazz music and experience live performance.

Professional teaching artist Jessica Miller will bring the songs, costumes and theatrical materials to help your troop bring The Jungle Book to life! Through singing, dancing and acting, girl scouts will employ imagination, creativity and reasoning skills to learn more about themselves and their world through the lives and dreams of the musicals' characters.

At least one troop leader or parent representative is required to attend encouraged to participate with their troop. No fee is required for adults in attendance.
