SARA MURPHY & MICHAEL SHEETZ - Caritas Concert - Sacred Music in a Sacred Space
Sara Murphy, mezzo-soprano, and Michael Sheetz, piano, in recital
Featuring Mahler's Ruckert Lieder and music of Brahms, Lili Boulanger and Edward Elgar.
All proceeds benefit LifeWay Network, a New York Metro area organization that joins in the global movement against human trafficking by providing safe housing for women who have been trafficked and offering education about trafficking to the general public.
This concert is made possible through the generous support of the Melinda and William vanden Heuvel Foundation, Steven I. Cicarelli, Dr. Nicholas and Mrs. Arlene D'Arienzo, Vincent Q. and Mary Ann Giffuni, Sarah W. Johnson, Kalpa Tree Foundation, Greg Swallwell and Terry Connor, and Win and Mary Rutherfurd.
Held in Wallace Hall, Caritas Concerts have the appeal of the less formal salon concerts of the 19th century. The evenings begin and end with wine, hors d'oeuvres, and a chance to mingle with the performers, and intimate seating places the audience in close proximity to the music. As the name suggests, Caritas Concerts are benefits, with all proceeds directed toward charities that address social justice concerns.
All tickets for Caritas Concerts: $50
All tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Programs and performers are subject to change.
