Nature Walking Tour
There are over 3,000 trees in Forest Lawn, representing 200 different species and varieties and making the cemetery an important arboretum in our region. Over 240 kinds of birds have been spotted in Forest Lawn. They are encouraged to be year-round residents by no-rent housing provided in the countless birdhouses placed throughout the cemetery.
For thousands of years, man has been in awe of nature. The interpretations of nature take various forms, and on this tour you will learn about some of the symbolic ways that nature has influenced memorialization.
Join our resident nature expert, Kim Alexander Thomson as she takes you on a 1 1/2 hour walking tour to explore nature in its own form. She will also share how nature has been interpreted at Forest Lawn with an up close and personal look at the many natural wonders within the cemetery gates.
