Event
THE FLAVOR OF Ñ: A COMBINATION OF SCIENCE AND LITERATURE.
This activity is a fusion of both a conference presented by the writer Juana Salabert and the scientific researcher and expert Maria Victoria Moreno-Arribas, and a wine-tasting experience offered by sommelier Andrew Sinclair in cooperation with the wine cellars González Byass. The purpose of this activity is to highlight the meaning of food and wine in literature and society.
Victoria Moreno-Arribas will give an overview on the past few years' research on wine as it is documented in the book "El vino" (CSIC, 2011). A unique experience of a social-scientific trip through the never-ending universe of some of the most ancient foods and their chemical and nutritional values as well as their astonishing health benefits for the cardiovascular system, and their anticarcinogenic and immunological properties.
Juana Salabert (Paris, 1962) is author of various works in Spanish and has a degree in Modern Languages by the University of Toulouse Le-Mirail. She was awarded the Premio Biblioteca Breve by the editorial Seix Barral in 2011.
Andrew Sinclair will entertain up to 160 guests with an exquisite wine tasting at the end of the conference. The wine originates from González Byass cellars.
