Celestial Serenade
Would you like to spend an evening under the stars, drinking wine, noshing on delicious food, listening to the beautiful sounds of The Windsome Woods Chamber Players, and then experiencing a guided tour of the stars by an expert star gazer? And would you like it if your children under 18 were not only welcome, but were admitted for free?
Join us under the stars in the beautiful Oakland Mills Courtyard for an evening of beautiful music, food, drink, and family time.
Because of it's intimate nature, chamber music has been described as "the music of friends. Join neighbors and friends as The Windsome Wood Chamber Players performs transcriptions of the classical music masters such as Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven as well as original works.

The Windsome Woods Player's music is both musically complex and listener-friendly, with the performance also incorporating the history, development, and literature of the individual instruments including solo selections. Here are some beautiful samples of their talent:

The Windome Woods Chamber Players are:
Kendra Craven (flute) currently a member of the United States Army Band ("Pershing's Own"). She was selected to solo with The Army Band at the 2006 Music Educator's National Conference in Salt Lake City, UT, and is a featured soloist on the Army Band 2008 CD, High Speed.
Lane Shioji (clarinet) has performed with many orchestras including The Waco Symphony Orchestra, East Texas Symphony Orchestra, The Chicago Civic Orchestra, and the Irving Symphony Orchestra. Lane began his Army career with The United States Army Field Band and is currently a member of The United States Army Band ("Pershing's Own"). He has been a featured soloist with both of the Army's premier bands as well as the El Paso Symphony. His most recent challenge came when he assumed the role of coordinator for all of the bands musical activities for the 2009 Inaugural Parade.
Cyndy Bartolomeo (oboe) was an oboist and the solo English horn player with The United States Field Army Band from 1976 - 2004. Chamber music has been her first love and she has over 35 years of experience in this specialty. While a member of the Field Band she founded and was the musical director for a woodwind quintet that performed recitals for many senior citizen communities for over 20 years. She is the founder of and musical coordinator of The Windsome Wood Chamber Players.
