The 1890s era, also known as The Gay Nineties was a memorable time and experience characterized by societal scandal, suffragette movements, and decadent art. 'Gay Nineties', the band are no different, delivering an explosive live performance showcasing their clear musical sensibility and style, inspired by multiple decades of artistic influences.

Working with Producer, Scott Ternan (54-40, Sam Roberts) and Mixer, Steve Bays (Hot Hot Heat, Mounties), Gay Nineties have spent the last 6 months in the studio creating a new full length record which is equal parts swagger, psychedelia keyboard, stomping drums, and tight harmonies. The first single "Letterman" has received continuous airplay on Vancouver's 102.7 The Peak as well as national rotation on CBC Radio3. The full album will be released in the summer of 2014 followed by continuous touring of Canada and USA.

Gay Nineties have found themselves in the Top 20 of the Peak Performance Project, playing showcases in CMW, NewYork City, and Montreal, as well as touring with The Walkmen. Their EP 'Coming Together' (released on First Love Records) has garnered critical acclaim and been distributed throughout North America and beyond.
