There Is A Happiness That Morning Is
THERE IS A HAPPINESS THAT MORNING IS is presented as two lectures from Bernard and Ellen, college professors and scholars on the poet William Blake. One lecture is given in the morning by Bernard, a barely published poet/musician, on the Songs of Innocence, and the other in the afternoon by his lover, Ellen, a respected PhD on the Songs of Experience. The night before their lectures, Bernard and Ellen spontaneously made love on the college's public green in front of the entire school and must now either apologize or defend their act to the student body who witnessed it. While speaking in Maher's quick, funny and sharp rhymes they give their divergent views on their shared experience and offer a real and hard look at love, its challenges and its miracles.
Featuring Christina Keefe, Jack Young and Ted Heyck. Directed by A!TC Artistic Director Tiger Reel, this WEST COAST PREMIERE of Mickle Maher's comedy opens MAY 30th, runs through June 14th with a limited engagement in the Hollywood Fringe Festival and contains partial nudity and adult language.
