Smash and Grab
In the early hours of April 21st, Morgue Anne's car window was smashed in and essential equipment taken. Among the stolen objects were most of the technical equipment for her production company, Morgue Anne Presents as well as some gear that belonged to DJ Jades.
Only a few days later, Danielle K.L. Gregoire, producer of The Comedy Womb, had her back window smashed. Stolen from her car was a microphone and cash box filled with hard-earned money.
To help get both of these wonderful productions back on their feet, they have decided to team up with Dr. Jenn of Atomic Cosmetics and Outwatch Patrol to present a night of stand up, burlesque, and live music. Our goal is not only to entertain and help the existing artists of Seattle but also to raise awareness about Outwatch and how to make Seattle a city we can all be proud of.
Morgue Anne Presents (MAP) has been providing local, independent live performance art to Seattle since 2012. Founded on a need to help Coney Island recover after Hurricane Sandy, Morgue Anne has continued to help others by doing both fundraiser and for-profit shows non-stop ever since. Specializing in burlesque and vaudeville-style showcases, MAP has several monthly events around the city as well as a weekly podcast.
The Comedy Womb is a female-focused (but not female exclusive!) twice-weekly comedy open mic with special guest spots and a headliner in The Grotto, at the Rendezvous. A steal at only $5 every Tuesday and Wednesday night, The Comedy Womb is more than just an open mic show, it's a place where you will get to see up and coming comics working on their longer sets in a supportive, safe, heckle-free environment.
OutWatch is a group of citizens from within the community of Capitol Hill who want to be able to make our streets safer and prevent attacks from happening. OutWatch is a group of volunteers from all areas of our diverse community on Capitol Hill who are volunteering in unity to raise awareness and protect the streets of Capitol Hill. By patrolling the streets in routes in groups of 4 volunteers, OutWatch will have a presence on the streets of Capitol Hill and will make attackers think twice about committing a crime or attacking another member of our community. They are a group who wants to make a difference and make the rising trend of attacks on our community member's stop in its tracks.
