Music in the Gardens, a Water Music Society Event
The Long Beach Peninsula has a perfect, temperate climate for growing gorgeous shrubs and flowers as well as an impressive array of edibles. In 2005, local gardeners got together and decided to open their beautiful gardens for visitors to enjoy. Thus was born 'Music in the Gardens,' a one-day annual event which showcases a variety of local gardens.
Each year, different gardens are chosen to participate, with an eye toward providing a glimpse into how each garden has been creatively adapted to the particular needs of windy waterfront climates, more sheltered 'inland' spaces, or to produce robust vegetable crops as well as lovely plantings.
Most of the proud gardeners offer hors d'oeuvres and refreshment and all invite gusts to linger and enjoy .
