Overcoming Barriers to Employment Summit for Job Seekers with Disabilities 2014
Do you have a disability? Do you have a difficult time finding employment? The 4th Annual Overcoming Barriers to Employment Summit is designed to help job-seekers with disabilities navigate the road to employment.
This free event for job-seekers is funded through the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, as part of a partnership with the Northshore/Shoreline Community Network, Shoreline Community College, Quick-Start Shoreline, City of Shoreline and the Shoreline School District.
The Summit will be in the 9000 Pagoda Union Building at Shoreline Community College, 16101 Greenwood Ave. N., Shoreline, WA 98133.
The "Overcoming Barriers to Employment Summit" will offer opportunities to connect with community resources and attend workshops on:
- How DVR can help you find a Job - Job Search on the Internet - Secrets to a Successful Interview - Supported Employment - Accommodations in the Work Place - Keeping Your Job and Adjusting to Change - Volunteerism as a Pre-Employment Experience - Is College Right for Me? - Assistive Technology in the Workplace
The keynote speaker is Disability Advocate and Washington State House of Representatives Representative CYRUS HABIB.
Pre-registration is required. Free parking is available in designated parking on a first come first serve basis. Free lunch is also provided.
