Description: When the world is exploding and it seems to be every man and woman for him or herself, the refugees who flee these crises go on to pollinate the world with their ideas, experience and cuisine. The mixy-mixy of it all is food for a rich dramatic meal. FRONTIER: VALLEY OF THE SHADOW expands one of these refugee stories to explore an immigrant experience and the struggle to survive both physically and psychically. Teenage appetite and angst, the development of a soul, faith and the lack of it, the varied forms of gods, goddesses, and love all swirl together in this recipe seasoned with humor and pathos. Told through transformation by the playwright/performer Ki Gottberg, it is a story both intimate and universal. Developed and directed by New City Theater's artistic director John Kazanjian.
