Having done two "research mission" performances in San Diego and Los Angeles last month, the trio of KENEALLY-BENDIAN-LUNN (Mike Keneally along with good friends Gregg Bendian on Drums <Mahavishnu Project, Pat Metheny & Cecil Taylor> and Doug Lunn on Bass ) will now apply the lessons learned to a slate of performances in May 2014. A scant few weeks from now, they'll begin in Nashville (5/15), then move on to St. Louis, Chicago, Greenwood, Columbus, Baltimore, NYC, Long Island, Philly, Dunellen, Cambridge, Charleston, and wind up at a festival in Scottsville, KY (5/31). Long acclaimed as one of the world's most creative and intense guitar and keyboard players, Mike Keneally's talents as a vocalist, songwriter, arranger, producer and multi-instrumentalist are nearly unequalled in rock music. "Keneally is the leading progressive rock genius of the post-Zappa era." All Music Guide. Keneally has released 24 albums of his original music since 1992, and has built a body of work of remarkable inventiveness and originality. Keneally played in Frank Zappa's last touring band, performing as a vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist. He's appeared on many Zappa albums, is currently a touring member of both Dethklok and the Joe Satriani Band, and has also recorded or performed with Robert Fripp, Wayne Kramer, Kevin Gilbert, Solomon Burke, Steve Vai, Chickenfoot, Bear McCreary, Henry Kaiser, Michael Manring, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Andy Prieboy, Mullmuzzler, The Persuasions and many others.
A native of New York, Rob Balducci has defined himself as a guitarist, musician, composer and one of the most sought after instructors in New York. Balducci's music is drenched in layers of sonic colors, each representing a tangible emotion, desire, depth, feeling, thought and mood. Rob said "There's this cliche that instrumental guitar music has gotten to be too much of a vehicle for soloing and showing off technique. That's completely the opposite of what I'm trying to do. My music is really like vocal songs with the guitar as the vocals." Guitar World said after hearing Balducci's debut CD " Hum-able Shred! What a concept."
