Songwriters in the Round
Lisa Redfern brings three talented Maine songwriters to perform in an intimate, unplugged setting in Frontier's theatre for an evening of compelling songs and stories. For this season premiere, Lisa invites John and Rachel Nicholas, and Bruce Wayne McLellan to join her.
Lisa Redfern
An award-winning singer-songwriter who just released her 9th solo recording, Lisa blends her roots in all forms of Americana music to create something unmistakably her own. For over 25 years, Lisa has brought joy and comfort to listeners of all ages. After opening for Livingston Taylor, he commented to her "Wow, I haven't heard a voice like yours in 30 years, you sound like the original women of folk."
John and Rachel Nicholas
John and Rachel Nicholas have been making music together for more than 30 years. Their original songs are steeped in the varied history of folk and popular music. Their songs tell stories that are deep and true. They sing of love and loss, and the comedies and everyday worries of the human heart. "They sing with one voice".
Bruce Wayne McLellan
Bruce started writing poems and songs as a teenager growing up in Windham, Maine to convey emotions that words alone were inadequate to express. He understands clearly that it's easy to write a 'good' song but to write a 'great' song takes an exponentially greater effort. Lyrics and music must merge to 'dance as one' to simultaneously tell a story and inspire one's heart and soul.
