Halden Wofford and The Highbeams and Motorhome
Halden Wofford and the Hi-Beams classic style of honky tonk has a language and culture all to itself, but only takes one quick lesson to learn how to love for a lifetime. The twang of the steel guitar, snap of the snare drum, thump of the stand-up bass and rippin electric guitar solos mix with Woffords distinctive vocals to create a sound that is familiar yet purely original. Ringing out all along the Front Range of Colorado and beyond, Woffords wavering tenor conjures up images of Hank Williams Sr., Buddy Holly and Bob Wills. Proud to call Colorado home, motorhome's been (rocking and) rolling across Rocky Mountain stages since 2006. While being named the Best Alt Country/Country/Americana Band by the Fort Collins Music Association, they wouldnt classify themselves in any of those categories. Theyre unlike any band that's preceeded them, a unique rock band with a hard country edge. They don't pigeonhole their musical genre. Instead, they prefer to write music that is true to them, and to leave it to their fans to decide what to call their exotic blend of rock and irreverent country. While their original music is a true strength of the band, their overall musicianship, harmonies, and energy cannot be overlooked. motorhome is a complete package, and their live shows are experiences not soon to be forgotten. Having opened up for great performers like Cross Canadian Ragweed, James McMurtry, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, Junior Brown, Reverend Horton Heat, The Mother Truckers, Jerry Joseph, The Legendary Shack Shakers, the Railbenders, and Split Lip Rayfield, motorhome has played all sorts of venues for nearly every type of crowd. With all the variety, one thing always holds true. motorhome leaves the stage running on fumes, and crowds love them for it. With the release of their first self-produced/self-recorded album, motorhome has yet to break their stride. With a live recording and a second album soon to be released, motorhome's picking up speed with no sign of slowing down. You can purchase motorhome's merchandise at www.motorhomemusic.com.
