PSoC Workshop
The PSoC 4 is Cypress's newest ARM-based PSoC, featuring the low-power Cortex-M0 core combined with PSoC's unique programmable mixed-signal hardware IP, resulting in the industry's most flexible and scalable low-power mixed-signal architecture. This workshop is intended as an introduction to embedded programming using the Cypress PSOC platform. Attendees will be expected to have some experience with a microcontroller like an Arduino before, although all necessary material will be briefly covered. The focus will be on a working understanding of the architecture and hands-on experience using features common to many projects (things like analog input, PWM, digital input, etc).
Topics include:
- PSOC architecture: just enough of the basics to get you making stuff - Digital, Analog and Programmable Routing / Interconnect Systems: again, enough basics so that you can get peripherals within the PSoC talking to each other - Port configuration: what pins you can use for what... - Digital Output: drive current/settings - Analog input: How to use the ADC - Communication: we are going to use Serial but briefly talk about other options - Basic CPLD usage: using the fun drag and drop interface of Cypress PSoC Creator, we will build a 'circuit' that runs entirely independently from the microcontroller to allow for faster I/O (among other things)
