'Being Stavros' directed by Jonothan McLeod (Scotland) RT: 10 min. Being Stavros tells the story of one man's experience of prejudice on the gay scene. Stavros is looking for love and decides he will find it by entering the Mr Gay UK pageant. Only problem is, at over 400lbs, Stavros weighs three times as much as his competitors.
'Gay Goth Scene' directed by Kai Stanicke (Germany) RT: 5 min. Music Video
'Foreign Relations' directed by Reid Waterer (USA/Greece) RT: 25 min. Coming out is not just a one-time act. It is a process. One is often confronted with situations in which it may or may not be necessary or advisable to share one's sexual orientation. The fact that the film's protagonist Tom is attracted to his randomly assigned Greek roommate Nikos and the fact that all the signs and signals Americans use to guess someone's sexual orientation don't seem to apply to foreigners like Nikos. Tom's flirty tour guide Armando definitely seems interested, but will Tom actually find love on his Mediterranean vacation... or will he get too distracted with Nikos trying to solve the age-old question: Gay or European?
'In Defense of Traditional Marriage' directed by Thom Newell (USA) RT: 7 min. While this films starts out as a fun, and funny, wedding video for Sam and Alex, as soon as Sam starts down the aisle, the audience will notice something wrong. A second act twist gives this film a unique voice in the current cultural conversation.
'Goodnight My Love' directed by Kellee Terrell (USA) RT: 10 min. In an apartment building overrun by zombies, Aimee and Cynthia, a Black lesbian couple, hide in a laundry room try to figure out their next move. They spend what may be their final moments hashing out the issues that plagued their 7-year relationship.
'Mecs Meufs' directed by Liam Engle (France) RT: 14 min. - subtitled Mecs Meufs takes a look at the differences of attitude when it comes to seduction, a strong subject for a comedy about gender roles, sexual preferences, and how we all try to fit in together
'Luigi e Vincenzo' directed by Giuseppe Bucci (Italy) RT: 5 min. Today, a special day for Luigi and Vincenzo, years of a love story in clandestine, for shame, fear, thinking do not have rights, no marriage, no family, neither walking hand in hand.... But this day, the same of the Napoli gay pride day, something changes....
Short films are followed by comments from filmmakers Reid Waterer and Kellee Terrell.
