WRITING AND MOVING : building physical character & finding source material
Drawing from memory, physical explorations and writing exercises, we explore history to discover story and body to find character. We improvise as an ensemble to find the extraordinary within the ordinary. You learn techniques to create original material; expand your presence on-stage; and work with a group. Directors learn to communicate with performers about movement. Writers learn techniques for developing character, finding source material and improvising interactions. These exercises develop the capacity to stay in the moment and tune your perceptions. No prior experience needed. These are the same techniques DSDT uses to develop its work.
