Snap on 2&4 w/ the Chester Thompson Trio
Join us on Friday, June 13 as we welcome the Chester Thompson Trio to the Jazz Cave! The Trio's performance will continue NJW's Snap on 2&4 series.
Nashville is incredibly fortunate to have a musician of Chester Thompson's caliber. The Jazz Workshop is especially fortunate to have him as a faculty member and artist! With three decades of performing and recording under his belt, Chester has influenced countless musicians in the fields of jazz, pop, rock, and gospel. Aside from a stint with Weather Report, Chester's resume also includes tours with Frank Zappa, Genesis, and Phil Collins. Chester has appeared as a sideman many times in the Jazz Cave, and we are excited to welcome him back as the lead man. The trio was formed in 2011, and they released an outstanding record titled Approved this past year.
Chester will be joined by his trio bandmates Joe Davidian on piano and Michael Rinne on bass. This performance will also feature Todd London on vibes and percussion.
Admission is $20 / $10 high school and college students with ID. Tickets will go on sale Monday April 14 at 10AM and will be available online on this page, by phone 24/7 at Brown Paper Tickets (800-838-3006) or during business hours at the NJW office (242-5299). A small convenience charge is added to online or 800-number purchases.
Policies: The Jazz Cave is a BYOB establishment, with no alcohol or food service. You are free to bring alcoholic beverages and snacks. We sell soft drinks and bottled water. The Jazz Cave is a listening room, and we ask patrons to keep conversation to a minimum and silence cell phones. Audio and video recording is prohibited.
